Like most people I love easter because of the pastel colors, adorable decorations and of course the quality time I get to spend with family (coordinating a scavenger hunt for the little rascals in our family….jk, I love them). It was that time of the year where I was able to let all the creative juices come out!! My sister and I had so much fun decorating these cupcakes and I know for a fact you will too. Let’s not forget to mention how tasty these cupcakes were. I could not resist and had three myself. Shhh… don’t tell anyone.
I would love to see what you can create with this delicious recipe. Please share your pictures on #figsontop. Enjoy!
Easter is right around the corner. I want to share a super easy and delicious recipe that everyone will enjoy. There are so many things to do during this time of year, so why not bake something that takes minutes to whip up, tastes amazing and looks like a cozy little nest.
These little nests are baked to perfection. The outside is slightly toasty and the inside is melt in your mouth, sweet deliciousness. You can decorate these however you want. I decided to fill the indentations with Nutella and added M&M eggs to make it look like a nest. Other great alternatives can be jam, lemon curd or any desirable filling.
I would love to see your baking creations. Please tag #figsontop to share.
Since I started blogging in January of this year, I have been trying to meet and get to know the blogging community around the Los Angeles area. As I was browsing the Internet, I came across Small Chick Big Eats (SCBE) and saw that they were hosting a food bloggers network and cooking workshop in collaboration with Chef Tech Cooking School.
Let me first mention that I had no idea there was a cooking school in Long Beach. Of all the times that I have been there, I never knew such a little gem existed. I instantly went to their website, http://cheftechcookingschool.com/, and signed up for this wonderful workshop. The anticipation was killing me. I had been wanted to go to a culinary school for some time now. This was the perfect opportunity to learn basic skills and experience first hand what it would be like to actually be a culinary student. And finally the day came…
Do you love oreos? What about chocolate chip cookies? If you love them both then you are in luck because these oreo cookie cups are the best of both worlds! Try the recipe below and let me know what you think in the comments.
P.S. You don’t have to wait until Christmas to enjoy cookies with milk!
All my years of baking I never thought beer would be a main ingredient for a cupcake until I came across the idea of beer cupcakes. I made this for a friend’s birthday who happens to be a huge beer enthusiast. Even though these cupcakes don’t give you a buzz (unfortunate), they do buzz themselves with their own beer capsules.
These taste delicious especially paired with the citrus cream cheese frosting and the capsule of beer to quench your thirst. The lime zest in the cupcake and the frosting make it out of this world delicious. I used Stella Artois since that’s what i had at home but Corona would work just as well. You can even use Bluemoon or any other citrusy beer (substitute the lime with an orange if using an orange flavored beer like Bluemoon).
Whether you love beer or just a good cupcake, I suggest you give this recipe a try. You will not regret it and I can assure you it is a definite crowd pleaser.
