Chocolate Mousse

This chocolate mousse recipe is easy, delicious and versatile.  You can eat it on it’s own, use it as frosting or mix in a trifle.  The possibilities are endless.  Did I mention how easy it is to make it?  Well, it’s super easy with minimal ingredients!

Apple Turnovers

I was browsing at the bakery section of my local grocery store and I realized that I have never had a Turnover.  This might come as a shock to most but it is not something that my family will ever consider buying when the other options include muffins, cupcakes, brownies and cakes. Same goes with me – it never crossed my mind to try a turnover. Of course, I decided to attempt making one at home. So the experiment began.  I did some research and looked at tons of recipes for inspiration and whalaa I knew what I needed to make a turnover.  The best thing about this recipe is that I had all the ingredients in my pantry.  It is that simple to make.

 

The fruits that I had a lot of that day were apples and oranges which is why I decided to make Apple Turnovers with an Orange Zest Glaze. I love both flavors and what could be better than combining both together into a soft and fluffy puff pastry.  Wouldn’t you agree?

My family always uses puff pastry but not once have they used it to make dessert. Usually it is used for savory reasons.  So as you can guess a shock of delight came on my parents face when they tried these Apple Turnovers. Summer has officially begun and now there is a farmer’s market in every corner.  I love going to a farmer’s market in this season because everything just looks so pretty. Oh and let’s not forget everything tastes so yummy especially the berries.  Berries…berries…and some more berries….

So of course I ended up buying more blueberries than I actually needed.  I had to do something with these tasty babies before they went bad.  It’s summertime and 4th of July is right around the corner.  What else could I do with something that is blue and be patriotic and the same time. This was the perfect reason to use my blueberries. I decided to make blueberry oat crumble tarts with homemade strawberry preserve.  Who can resist this combination.  Not me…was I dieting????  I like to tell myself this is a healthier (than usual) dessert since the main ingredient is blueberries!  YEP..that sounds better 🙂  Now let’s bake, eat and celebrate!!!!!

Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing

It just happened to be that my earth day and my cousin’s welcome baby were around the same time. My cousin asked me to make cookies look like the earth. I was a little nervous since I had never baked for a special event but I decided to give it a try.

This was my second time making sugar cookies. I can definitely say this is hands down the best recipe that I have worked with so far. These cookies were quick and easy to make and on top of that, they were soft. Who doesn’t love a soft cookie? I love how the cookies turned out. Hope you do too!!!!!

Lemon Curd Tart with Almond Crust

This time of year we get so many lemons on our lemon tree that it makes me sad to see them go unused. I decided to attempt making a lemon tart. For my first time, the results came out great. It was super easy to make. The lemon and almond flavors work together so well. This is one refreshing tart. If you love lemons like I do then I have no doubt that you will LOVE this as well. This is such an easy recipe and all the ingredients are everyday ingredients that you will have in your pantry.
